Join the team powering dairy at Emata! We are rewriting the rules of agri-finance in East Africa. By weaving smart tech into the daily lives of farmers, we deliver affordable, digital loans that turn “survival farming” into life-changing growth.

As our Relationship Officer – Southwest, you’ll drive this impact across the dairy value chain in Southwestern Uganda — launching strong partners, growing loan portfolios, and protecting repayment quality.

What you’ll own

You’ll be the engine driving partner performance in Southwestern Uganda — scouting new cooperatives, launching them successfully, and ensuring strong conversion and disciplined repayments.

This is a high-responsibility, field-heavy role. You will spend significant time up-country with partners, boards, management teams, and lead farmers.

Business Development

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard promising cooperatives
• Grow lendable farmers and loan volumes within your region
• Train and support partners on Emata technology as well as financial services
• Represent Emata at regional industry events and partner meetings

Conversion & portfolio performance

• Monitor MIS usage, lendables, loan volumes, and repayment scores
• Drive structured follow-up to improve conversion
• Work closely with team to protect portfolio loan quality
• Lead relaunches or corrective action where performance drops

Growth without repayment discipline is not success. You own both.

Product & field feedback

• Collect structured feedback from users
• Test prototypes and new features with partners
• Ensure field realities shape product improvements

You might be the one if…

• 3+ years in agribusiness, microfinance, or rural field operations
• Ability to change minds and sway a room
• Highly organized and disciplined with CRM use
• Fluent in English and Runyankole
• Willing to travel extensively across Southwestern Uganda (minimum 3 days a week), as well as to Kampala regularly for team meetings
